ranian Studies at Concordia University encompasses the broad sweep of Iranian civilization, with attention to its influence on the literature, art, and social norms of peoples from the Balkans to India and China from ancient times to the present. Iran scholars at Concordia have achieved worldwide recognition through the publishing of research, presentations at international conferences, training future scholars, and helping to promote cultural events. As reported to the Canadian Association of Research Libraries for the 2011-12 academic year, members of the Concordia community have access to over 1.9 million print and electronic books, 72,500 print and online journals, 129,000 government documents, 3,900 musical scores, 62,000 sound recordings, films, videos, and more. The Soudavar Memorial Foundation awarded a grant in 2009 to Concordia University enabling them to update their collections of Persian language material, books, periodicals and digital items.
